Colorful Jewelry to Decorate Yourself
I’ve gotten into the wonder of enamel jewelry lately, and found some that really speaks to me as a nature lover. If you can’t play with color, then what’s the point? I think colors really tend to cheer people up, and wearing them is a little like becoming a walking flower garden. (Or maybe a flock of butterflies) Are butterfly groups called flocks? But you get the idea.
I wear things not necessarily “fashionable” but definitely unique. For instance, far-out pet jewelry can make you feel a little exotic, and if you want to there’s nothing wrong with using some other artist’s designs to complement your own. That’s right, I think all of us are artists at heart, and it’s important to share your gift and that means sharing the gifts of others as well.
Don’t be afraid of color! Color is one of the gifts of nature. The Creator was quite an artist – just look at this planet. For thousands of years mankind has been emulating the beauty all around him or her.
Little girls create their first colorful jewelry with the long chains of clover flowers tied together and hung around their necks. At least when I was a child this is what we did. It was a wonderful way to create something lovely just by picking a few flowers. I’ll bet little cave children did the same thing.
Certainly the jewelry worn by commoner and royalty has always been colorful. From the richness of precious metals (gold and silver) to the lush beauty of emeralds, rubies and early enamel painting, jewelry has a tradition of color. What better way to show off a slim neck or a graceful wrist than with a strategically placed piece of lovely jewelry?
Back in the old days, men wore lots of jewelry as well. Some of the princes and kings of the Middle Ages were as flamboyantly dressed as their female counterparts. So even if you are male, you might want to wear something a little flashy, at least once in a while to see how it feels!
And it doesn’t just have to be jewelry. Your clothing can be a direct reflection of your artistic soul. Some of the most colorfully dressed people tend to be artistic as well. Have you ever noticed this?
One great thing about being an artist is that you can get away with wearing some of the most outrageous things, from brilliant skirts and blouses, to brightly painted and enameled accessories. Let’s face it; color can make you feel happy. On a gloomy day, try wearing the sunniest thing in your closet for a real mood lifter. Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s possible to get yourself out of even the deepest funk by being creative. And creativity can be colorful!
