Expression of Creativity
All of us have ability. Some of us are excellent cooks, some of us can take an engine apart, another can heal a sick child. And there are artists who have the ability to change the world just by creating something exquisitely beautiful or incredibly ugly. Different effects are made on those around us depending on the artist and what they are like as human beings.
We’ve all experienced watching a movie and coming out of the theatre either feeling happy and as light as a feather, or just a hair away from bursting into tears. Or maybe just a little bored and feeling like you wasted your $10.00 that evening.
The same thing applies when you are shopping for something to either cheer yourself up or to give to your best friend.
I had a cousin who is a Veterinarian and when she was having an especially tough week, I felt like she needed a little creative artistry in her life. I found her a really pretty jewelry gift designed for veterinarians to wear on her favorite silver chain, which brightened her up considerably and made her thankful all over again for the career path she’d chosen. See what a little art can do?
Not too many people have a veterinarian and a dentist in their family, but mine is unique, I suppose. My brother Roger has been practicing dentistry for the past 10 years and he has a really wonderful staff.
Last Christmas he talked to me about what would be a good present to give to his receptionist, hygienist and office manager; all of whom have been with him for the entire time he’s been in practice.
I thought they should get gifts that had something to do with their profession. Anyway, they all seem like important jobs to me and jobs that they should be proud to have held for so long.
Roger trusts my judgment so I told him about these Dentist’s Jewelry gift ideas I found online. He bought them for all the girls and he said after they opened the boxes they couldn’t stop talking about them!
Of course, you can always make something yourself as a gift, and many people appreciate hand made things the most. I always love to receive a gift that has been made especially for me. You know it’s a one of a kind thing, and that a lot of thought and care went into making it. It also makes you feel special, and that the person who made it feels very fondly of you.
Even if you don’t think you’re creative, why not bake a bunch of cookies to give as a gift, or grow a plant and then paint the pot just to give it a little pizzazz. There are lots of things you can do that you might not even have realized till you give it a little thought. Think about how important your grandson’s picture is to you- the one you kept on the refrigerator until all the edges were frayed. Now THAT was a present that was special!
