Gold That Glitters

Even though I don’t own a lot of gold jewelry, I have to admit it is one of the precious metals I love the most. For me, it relates to the beautiful and ancient works of art crafted by the old masters. I am such a romantic at heart; I don’t believe any of my friends would believe how much I admire gold jewelry handcrafted by an artist .

Do you have to be rich to own one of these wonderful gold pendants? Not really. For instance, this lovely gold owl pendant was something I decided was worth saving up for! And where do I wear such a valuable piece of jewelry? Everywhere! Well, I don’t wear it when I go swimming in the ocean, but I do admit to having it around my neck when I work in the garden, go food shopping and drive downtown for errands. It makes me feel elegant. Besides, I absolutely love owls, and feel like this is such a wonderful likeness.

I’m not saying you should buy 14K gold jewelry at the expense of making your car payment or buying food for your children, but if you do have a little disposable income, something like this might give you a lift. Maybe I would be considered superstitious, but whenever I wear my little gold owl, something good seems to happen. And besides, it’s pretty enjoyable to make people smile and then ask “Where did you ever get that?”

Just as an aside, I saw an amazing owl the other night. It was a surprise to me; I was sitting on my front porch and noticed a large and heavy-looking bird land on the top branch of my neighbor’s tree. I walked next door just to make sure. I guess I startled it, because it lifted off and flew to the neighbor’s fence right in front of my eyes. Luckily it was dusk, so I was able to see the whole thing.

Maybe my little own pendant brought me this remarkable but actual vision!

But I am digressing. What I really wanted to say, is that no matter how much you may feel that gold jewelry is out of your reach, it really is not. Think about how many of us make $300.00 car payments every month. How many of us pay at least $30.00 a week just for a big cup of Starbuck’s coffee and a sandwich. A couple of months without those goodies, and you’ll have enough for a real goodie, one that will last your entire lifetime, and that of your progeny as well. Save some money to purchase an heirloom in your family!

Maybe gold isn’t your thing; but I bet there is something you’d love to have for yourself that feels out of reach. Take a look at ways you can actually treat yourself to your heart’s desire. It is possible!
